Welcome to SustainableTV.org
Sustainabletv.org is a user-generated website similar to youtube and others where users can upload content and share it with others. The difference being, STV’s focus is on content that in some way or another deals with issues of sustainability. Our goal is to create a website featuring programming and information dedicated to healing our planet and the perpetuation of peace.
Users are invited to upload content into one of our many categories listed below.
STV will do as much as we can to cross-promote your program and/or cause. When filling out the description portion of the uploader, please include websites, emails or any other contact information you wish to include.
As we get STV off the ground, our focus for the first few months will be gathering content from producers who are looking to garner attention to their program or cause. Our success will lie in our ability to connect with like-minded people who have something to say about what’s going on and want to communicate it with others.
Thank you and if you know of others who may be interested in sustainabletv.org, Please help me spread the word.
Thanks To All,
Mitch Popa

STV is currently looking for programming in the following categories:
I-Reports
This category is for people who are able to capture something either good or bad and feel it
deserves an audience. For example, if you’re in a rainforest preserve and you observe logging,
let’s get it on sustainabletv.org immediately so we can use it to show the powers at be that we’re
watching and we’re going to make sure others see it. Sustainabletv.org is very user friendly for
people who want to upload relevant material. If you’re in the field, all that is required is internet
access and a firewire cable. NOTE: when recording what you want to share, be sure describe
where you are, what you are recording and why.
Environmental
Programs in this category should reflect efforts going on which are either benefiting or harming
the environment. Like with everything that is submitted to Sustainabletv.org, all I ask is that the
material being presented be factual and pertinent.
Social
Programs in the social category can range from stories about human rights issues to what
communities/individuals are doing to either make life better or worse for those around them.
Sustainability
This category is fairly broad in that I hope to attract programming highlighting efforts going on
designed to teach people how to live a life which has low-impact on natural resources. Stories can
be about everything from home renovation and gardening tips to social sustainability.
Ecotourism
We have produced two projects in Costa Rica about their ecotourism industry. If there is one
thing we have learned is that ecotourism has the potential to help pay for conservation and
contribute to the development of long-term sustainable local economies. The ecotourism category
is designed to highlight ecolodges or other projects that are having a positive impact on the region
they are operating in. This category can also be used to expose projects that are having a negative
impact in hopes of discouraging people from supporting them.
Corporate
This category is designed to profile companies/corporations that are either doing things right
or wrong. My hope with this category, as it is with all categories, is that we bring attention to what
is being done and by who, which are either having a positive or negative impact on the planet.
Through this exposure I hope this Sustainabletv.org serves as kind of ‘sustainable consumer guide’
people can use to find companies they feel comfortable supporting.
Sights and Sounds
This category is designed for people who have something nice (sunrise/set, river scene, ocean scene) etc. and want to share it with others. The only thing we ask is for the video to be stable and the audio to be audible. Happy Sharing!
Zoo TV
This category is for all zoos who are involved in species conservation and want to share what they have done with others.
Climate Change
Climate change is the number one threat facing the future of the only planet we’ll ever know. This category is for anyone who has produced something on behalf of or has something to say about climate change.
Thank you and welcome to SustainableTV.org
